LINKERSTOWN.
[From Mr. C. J. HOBSON,
Carlow.]
'Linkerstown
burial-ground is situated a short distance from the road, leading from Tinryland
to Milford or Graiguenaspidogue. Formerly an old road passed this
churchyard, part of which still remains. The burying ground contains the
remains of an old building, the eastern able of which has a lancet window of
nice design. In the burying-ground there are quite a number of
monuments. It has been enclosed with a strong stone wall by the Carlow
Board of Guardians.'
'To the memory of
Edmond NOWLAN late of Park, who departed this life the 12th of March 1796

Also to the memory of Bridget NOWLAN wife to Mr. Garret NOWLAN of
Linkerstown, who departed this life March 26th 1859, aged 68 years. Also
her son Garret, who departed this life December 15th 1859, aged 39 years.
Also her sons Gerald, Thomas, James, and Edward.
