CLUB FLYING SITES
The Latrobe Valley Model Aero Club currently has 2 power
Model flying sites and 2 Slope Gliding sites in the area from Traralgon to
Drouin.
1 Lake Narracan near Moe/Newborough - This site is
now the LVMAC's major flying Site and development began in 2000. It now has a
120m X 50m mowed grass strip and is suitable for Powered models and Thermal
gliders. We also have a small beach and Jetty that is suitable to fly float
planes from . There are 3 gates to go through and the third gate is normally
locked. Club members can buy a key for access to this site (see the club
secretary or treasurer). Parking space for major events is limited but no
problem on normal weekends. Last one out should always shut the gates.
NOTE: No Model
flying on days of total fire ban at any of the Club Sites .
No Flying before
7.00am onWeek days and 9.00am on Weekends & Public Holidays

2 Tyers - A slope soaring site that we call NO
PINE is located on the Tyers - Yallourn North Rd, above the old open cut mine.
This is also private property and care should be taken when getting through the
fence.

3 Warragul - This site is
on private property opposite the old drive-in site (which is now called the
Lillico Garden Railway). Entry is up a laneway past the house and there are 2
gates to be left as found. This site is suitable for all powered models and
Thermal gliders and is a little tight.(trees, fences, etc) Noise is a problem
here and self imposed restrictions are in force. Often there are cattle on this
property so always shut the gates. Most of the internal fence wire has been
removed but the posts are still there !
NOTE: No flying on
days of total fire ban at any of our Club Sites.

flying site.
