Camden Meals On Wheels Inc. is a community based organization managed
by a local Management Committee and
funded under the Home and Community Care Program. Our role is to ensure the
frail aged and younger disabled are
provided with nutritious meals to assist them to stay in their own homes without
premature admission to an residential
aged care facility. If you, a family member or a friend think that provision of
meals and a visit from a volunteer would be
of benefit please check the eligibility criteria below and then please
contact our office.
Eligibility for Service:
- Does the person live in the Camden Local Government Area?
and
- Is the person over 65 (over 55 for Aboriginals & Torres Strait
Islanders) and frail?
or
- Is the person younger with an intellectual, physical or mental
disability?
or
- A carer of the above?
- Other considerations:
- Unintentional weight loss
- Unable to cook or shop for yourself?
- Has a reduced appetite or reduced food or fluid intake?
- Has mouth, chewing or swallowing difficulties?
- Follows a special diet?
- Declining health because the person is not eating properly?
Target Group:
In accordance with Home
& Community Care (HACC) guidelines, the client target group will include:

People with special needs

Isolated

People from non-English
speaking background

People with Dementia and
mental health problems

People of Aboriginal or Torres Strait
Islander descent.
